WILD SUMMER SMASH BURGERS
8 SERVINGS
1/2 teaspoon Canola Oil or Unsalted Butter
2 Pounds 20%+ Fat Ground Chuck
8 Slices American Cheese – Try something funkier, if you’d like!
8 Soft Hamburger Buns or Potato Rolls – Lightly Toasted
Kosher Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper – Or use Wildstyle "Dry Heat" Rub instead – If you’re feeling WILD
All the Fixin’s – Any of your favorite summer toppings: local heirloom tomatoes, pickled red onions, etc.
STEP 1
Fire up your Wildfire Griddle to medium-high. Once the surface is hot – lightly brush the area where you will be cooking your smash burgers with Canola Oil or Unsalted Butter.
STEP 2
Divide the Ground Chuck into 8 equal portions without forming them into patties.
STEP 3
Place the portions of Ground Chuck on your Wildfire Griddle with ample space between each – as you will next smash them with a spatula to form flattened patties.
STEP 4
Season up your flattened patties with salt, pepper, and Wildstyle “Dry Heat” Rub (optional) while they cook for about 2 minutes or until you can see browning occur around the perimeter.
STEP 5
Flip the patties and season this side to perfection – like the one before – then place a slice of your preferred cheese on top.
STEP 6
Your smash burgers will be ready to remove from the griddle once the cheese begins to melt along the edges and they reach your desired level of doneness.
STEP 7
Serve your Wild Summer Smash Burgers on toasted buns or potato rolls with your favorite combination of seasonal fixin’s!
